Located on the northwestern shoulder of the island of Maui, Kapalua is only minutes from the West Maui Airport. The vast lands of Kapalua stretch from the top of Pu'u Kukui, the highest peak in the West Maui Mountains, to the edge of the Pacific. Special Events

Each year, Kapalua is host to several world-class events. The Celebration of the Arts pays tribute the people and culture of Hawaii and features workshops taught by masters in oil painting, watercolors, pottery, basketry, or weaving, along with the Hawaiian art of bark cloth, wood carving, and lei making. The Kapalua Wine & Food Festival is an international savoring of the finest vintages and epicurean cuisines prepared by a cast of Hawaii's hottest chefs and wine makers. In addition, a variety of sporting, cultural, and nature related events are held throughout the year.

Activities

Three championship golf courses - The Bay, The Village and The Plantation - are set against a backdrop of Maui's most magnificent landscape. Each is dramatically distinct in character, and challenging for players of all abilities. The Plantation Course, is home to the annual Mercedes Championships, a PGA TOUR event featuring the champions of the previous year's events. Kapalua is also the home to Hawaii's only state-of-the-art Golf Academy. Kapalua offers the largest tennis facility in Hawaii with two state-of-the-game tennis complexes. Windsurfing, sailing, scuba, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, boogie boarding, and kayaking are some of the ocean activities one may enjoy in one of the six pristine bays Kapalua has to offer. Kapalua is also home to "America's Best Beach," Kapalua Bay.
