To our valued customers:

Due to economic conditions and their effects on passenger loads, it was with great difficulty that we have decided to discontinue scheduled service between Hilo, Hawai’i and Kahului, Maui effective August 17, 2009.

In preparation for the off-peak period we needed to concentrate our limited resources on protecting our primary destinations.

Mahalo for your loyalty over the past five years. Our hope is to restore this route in the future for the communities that are affected.

As an alternative, Island Air will be continuing service between Kona, Hawai’i and Kahului, Maui to preserve a link between the two islands.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

* At times, Island Air will make ad hoc adjustments to the flight schedule that may not be reflected on the posted timetable. These changes are necessary to accommodate passenger demand for flights that normal scheduled service may not adequately satisfy. Thank you for your understanding.
